Haiti Relief Effort

As a response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Presidents Bush and Clinton have created a fund to assist with relief and recovery efforts.

Mock Trials in the Commonwealth Room

Martin Luther King Day Hours

The Registry of Deeds, including the Fitchburg Satellite Office, will be closed on Monday, January 18th in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Review of 2009 and Preview of 2010

In 2009, the Registry of Deeds completed an inventory of all microfilm, plans, aperture cards, and County Commissioner's records. Also, the Registry began indexing and key stroke verifying previously un-indexed records from 1965 back to 1961, which will continue into 2010. Other goals for 2010 include replacing aging microfilm with new film made from digital images and implementing electronic recording.

The following is a comparison of statistics from 2009 and 2008. While income has dropped slightly, there was been in increase in the number of total recordings and a decrease in the number of foreclosure deeds recorded.

For Fiscal Year 2010, the Registry of Deed's budget appropriation is $2,345,612.00, down from $2,688,908 in 2009 and 2.713,416.00 in 2010.
